Special Notes: Pre-Maiden Combined Test: All show jumps are mandatory; the maximum height of any fence will not exceed 2', and the course will include single fences only (no combinations).
Pre-Maiden Horse Trials: All cross country fences will be optional; riders will "lose" penalty points for each fence they successfully negotiate without faults--for example, if a rider enters the xc phase with 35.3 total penalties and safely/successfully negotiates 6 of the Maiden jumps, their final score will be 29.3. Since all jumps are optional, refusals will not affect the final score; however, multiple attempts to clear a fence are not allowed (one stop and move on). If a Pre-Maiden horse trials rider does not wish to jump any obstacles, they must still trot/canter the course and pass within 25 feet of each fence. |
